DTI test versions
How the DTI test evolved
The DTI test keeps improving, thanks to people who already know their type and share their answers anonymously. Here is every version: what changed, why, and what we learned. The newest is at the top; scroll down to go back in time. New to the DTI? Start with what it is and how it works.
How accurate is each version?
A version is only measured on tests that people actually took on it, once at least 20 people who know their type have shared their answers.
- Exact type: the test found their type.
- In the top two: their type came first or second.
- Reliable sources: the same, counting more the people who learned their type from a professional, from someone who knows them well, or from their own study.

How we use these results
- Only people who say they already know their type are counted. Those who learned it from a reliable source (a professional, someone who knows them well, or their own study) count more than those who took an online test or simply feel it.
- Nobody can be 100% sure of their type, so some people will have it wrong. That is fine: one person never changes the test. Only patterns shared by many people do, like many extraverts tapping the same card.
- When someone's answers point clearly and firmly to another type, we treat it as a possible mistake in their own typing, never as proof that a card is wrong.
- Before a change is kept, it is checked on answers it was not built from: the results are split in two halves, the change is made using one half, and it must hold up on the other.
About this data. Only totals and shares are shown. No answers, no single result, and nothing about any group of fewer than 5 people. Everyone who shared their answers chose to, anonymously. Privacy policy
