The 16 types
ENTP
The challenger. You love ideas, debates and turning conventional wisdom upside down. Quick and inventive, you see angles nobody considered. Boredom is your enemy, and arguing is how you think out loud.
Share of people: US samples of the MBTI Manual. Myers
The four main functions
You love ideas, debates and turning conventional wisdom upside down.
Hero Ne Possibilities
Your life mission: invent what is next
You see angles nobody considered and test ideas by playing with them. Your mission is to explore, invent and challenge what everyone assumes.
Parent Ti Precision
Your gift to others: you sharpen thinking
You question, refine and make ideas precise. You help people think better, even when it stings a little.
Child Fe Harmony
What recharges you: charming a room
Humor, banter and reading people for fun. Social play recharges you, and you can charm almost anyone.
Inferior Si Experience
Your soft spot: routine and the body
Details, habits and your own health are easy to ignore. Under heavy stress you can worry about your body or relive old failures. You grow by keeping a few solid routines.
The meaning of life Ne + Si
Ideas that last
Life feels meaningful when one of your many ideas becomes something solid that lasts.
The trap Ne + Fe loop
Playing to the crowd
Saying what people want to hear, chasing reactions instead of truth. Way out: the Ti Parent. Step back and think it through for yourself.
After stress, an ENTP needs
A new problem to chew on, a good debate, then real rest.
Getting along with an ENTP
Debate with them, laugh with them, and do not take their arguing personally.

How an ENTP shows
Talking
With quick witted debate and challenge: the devil's advocate who sharpens every idea.
Solving problems
By redefining the problem: when there is no exit, they draw a new door.
Under stress from
Stagnation and unquestioned authority: rigid rules, routine, "obey without asking".
The ENTP journey
1. The ordinary world Ne, Hero
Your home is the world of ideas: debating, inventing, turning conventional wisdom upside down.
2. The call Si, Inferior
The call comes through Si: commitments, details, the body, the past. A routine to keep, a promise to honour, a project that has to be finished.
5. The threshold Ni, Opposing Personality
At the threshold stands Ni: one vision that asks you to close the other doors, or someone else's certainty about the future. Crossing means choosing.
8. The ordeal Se, Demon
At the bottom of the circle is Se turned against you: the physical world out of control, reckless excess, consequences that cannot be argued away. The ENTP's deepest fear is being trapped in reality with no way out.
The ally INTJ, golden pair
Your golden pair, INTJ, lives openly the single vision you keep in the shadow. It picks the idea that matters, and helps you finish it.
12. The return the gift
You come back with ideas that last: one of your many ideas, grown into something solid.

What success means for an ENTP
Ideas that last.
For an ENTP, success is one of your many ideas becoming something solid that lasts.
The false summit. Winning every debate and the applause of the room, with nothing built.
The way there, seat by seat
- Ne Hero. Generate ideas, and challenge them.
- Ti Parent. Test what really holds.
- Fe Eternal Child. Bring people in, honestly.
- Si Anima or Animus. Commit, finish, and look after your body.
To find your own definition
- Which of your ideas would you defend for ten years?
- What have you dropped that deserved to be finished?
- What routine would protect your best work?
How to recognize an ENTP
The look
Animated, with a mischievous smile, clearly enjoying the conversation.
The words
Challenges: "what if", "just playing devil's advocate", "but why?".
The giveaway
They argue the opposite of what they said a minute ago, to see what holds.
Often mistaken for ENFP
Both lead with Ne. The ENTP's Parent is Ti, what makes sense; the ENFP's is Fi, what feels right. Listen for whether they argue from logic or from values.

Ideas that change the world
ENTP generates and tests ideas without limits; INTJ chooses the one that matters and builds the plan to get there. Together they invent the future and make it happen.
The same two deciding functions, Ti and Fe, with the ways of perceiving turned around: each can teach the other.
